Knee wraps are common with powerlifters; it is one of the most accessories you see with them when they train and participate in competitions. It helps them in doing jerks, cleans, squats and also helps to prevent the risk of sustaining serious injuries during your workout. Despite the many benefits of wearing knee wraps, it can be dangerous and counterproductive if it is wrongly used.
Knee wraps should not cover the calf muscles and also must not go higher than the upper region of the thigh. Knee wraps can be wrapped either in a crisscross around the kneecap or wrapped in a spiral form up and down the knee.
Either of the two styles for wearing knee wraps work well; it depends on the choice of the individual lifter. Whichever method you use, ensure you wrap it tight around your knee and keep your leg straight.
